721 vehicles were impounded by Kildare Gardai
There's a wide disparity across Ireland in the rate at which Gardai seize cars from unaccompanied learner drivers.
721 vehicles were impounded by Kildare Gardai in a two and a half year period, among the highest rates in Ireland.
However, just 18 per cent of those found in breach of the law in Co Clare have their cars seized.
The data was shared with Kildare North Social Democrat TD, and co-leader, Catherine Murphy.
Speaking to Kildare Today, she says its clear the law is being applied unevenly around Ireland.
Deputy Murphy joined Clem Ryan on Tuesday's edition of Kildare Today.
