Thoroughbred Autumn Marathon is underway in Kildare Town

Hundreds of runners have taken to the roads, motorists are being advised to chose alternative routes.

The Thoroughbred Autumn Marathon is underway in Kildare Town.

Hundreds of runners have taken to the roads around the town, and, while stewards are staffing the route, motorists may need to take extra care, or chose alternate routes.

The marathon travels through these locations:

Start: Station Road, Kildare town
Ellistown
Cherryville
Walterstown
Nurney
Kildoon
Iron hills
Suncroft
Curragh
Brownstown
Maddenstown
Japanese Gardens
Tully Road, Kildare Town
