This scheme aims to create 1,500 new childcare places across the country by supporting existing early learning and childcare providers, both community and private, to extend their facilities or develop new premises.
Over €1m in funding has been allocated to expand early learning and childcare services in Kildare as part of a national €25 million investment under the Building Blocks Extension Scheme.
This scheme aims to create 1,500 new childcare places across the country by supporting existing early learning and childcare providers, both community and private, to extend their facilities or develop new premises.
In Kildare, three providers have received funding, including two community providers and one private: Newbridge Family Resource Centre has been awarded €500,000 to create 30 new childcare places, and Bright Sparks in Allenwood has been granted €500,000 to establish 36 additional places.
The privately operated Acorn Crèche and Montessori has been awarded €250,000 to establish 34 additional places.
Grants under the scheme range from €500,000 for large-scale extensions to €750,000 for the construction or purchase of new community childcare facilities.
Private operators can qualify for between €50,000 and €250,000 to extend existing premises.
