The temporary facilities delayed include a science lab, woodwork room, two classrooms, toilets and an office.
Temporary accommodation for St. Farnan’s Post-Primary School in Prosperous - including a science lab, woodwork room, and classrooms - will now not be delivered until November, despite earlier commitments for an August handover.
The school, serving around 1,000 students, has been oversubscribed for three consecutive years, and the delay, according to a local TD, leaves staff scrambling to manage teaching space just weeks before term begins.
Sinn Féin TD Réada Cronin said the delay is “extremely frustrating”.
The temporary units were to be relocated from a school in Monasterevin.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin said he will raise the issue with the Department of Education.
