Local diversions will be in place to help manage traffic.
Traffic on the R403 over the River Liffey bridge in Celbridge will be reduced to a single lane from 9:30 AM on Tuesday, October 29th, until 5:00 PM on Friday, November 1st, 2024.
The reduction is to facilitate emergency repair works aimed at ensuring the safety and structural integrity of the bridge.
Local diversions will be in place to help manage traffic:
- L1016 (Newtown Road) traffic heading towards the bridge will be diverted via L6057 (Simmonstown Manor) to Hazelhatch Road.
- R405 (Hazelhatch Road) traffic heading towards the bridge will be diverted through L1027 (Shinkeen Road) onto R403 Dublin Road.
- Vehicles exiting Saint Patrick's Park will only be able to exit via Church Road/Tea Lane (L5065).
Alternative routes will be signposted, and motorists are encouraged to use the diversions, allow extra time for travel, and minimise journeys across the bridge during the repair period.
Traffic lights will operate on both sides of the bridge to ensure the smooth flow of single-lane traffic, but long delays and queuing are expected.
