The two burglaries were noted by Gardaí to have similar modus operandi, as well as the times not being far apart
Gardaí are investigating two burglaries that occurred in both Newbridge on the same night, and are believed to be linked.
The first incident took place in the Roseberry Hill Estate in Newbridge between 7pm and 10pm, in which the owners of the house came home to find their house ransacked.
Entry was gained via the rear kitchen window of the house that was pried open.
A large quantity of high value jewellery was taken.
On the same night, a family returned to their house in the Station Walk Estate in Newbridge to find their house ransacked.
The burglary took place between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
Like the house in Roseberry Hill Estate, a large quantity of high value jewellery was taken.
Exit was gained via the rear window.
Gardaí note that the modus operandi for this burglary was very similar to the Roseberry Hill Estate incident, as well as the times of both burglaries not being far apart.
Gardaí are urging those who saw any vehicle or persons acting suspiciously in either the Roseberry Hill Estate or the Station Walk Estate to contact Newbridge Gardaí on 045 440 180.
They are also asking anyone who has been offered jewellery to buy at a cheap price to contact Newbridge Gardaí.
