On Friday night, Gardaí were on patrol on the M7 near Kildare when they noticed a car being driven erratically.
When pulled over, the driver was found to be an unaccompanied learner.
He also failed a roadside breath test.
When brought into a garda station, the driver was tested and found to be nine times over the legal limit.
