Under 10% of properties for rent in Kildare fall within reach of those on housing assistance payments.
The latest Simon Communities 'Locked Out of the Market' survey shows there were 67 properties in Kildare and 2,200, nationally, available to rent at any price in June, a fall of a fifth since March.
Of the 67 properties, in Kildare 6 came within a standard or discretionary HAP limit of at least one of the four household categories.
No properties were available for single people within the period within HAP limits and 5 properties were available for couples within HAP limits.

Just 900 homes were available to those on HAP.
Wayne Stanley lives in Kildare and is Head of Policy at the Simon Community.
He says if supply doesn't improve, we'll start to see an increase in homelessness again.
