He's been named Ciarán.
A horse charged into Gardaí during the Citywest riots is recovering well after receiving intensive veterinary treatment.
The animal - now named Ciarán by the rescue organisation - was found collapsed in a field following the disorder.
Gardaí in Tallaght contacted Moyvalley-based My Lovely Horse Rescue after discovering the horse unable to stand and showing signs of colic.
A Garda with horse-handling experience managed to get him back on his feet before rescuers arrived.
The charity said the horse was extremely weak, barely able to walk, and suffering from significant leg wounds caused by ill-fitted straps, along with painful sores in his mouth from a bit.
Ciarán has since been treated at UCD Veterinary Hospital, where he was gelded, fully assessed and stabilised.
The organisation says he is now gaining weight, healing well, and responding positively to care.
