Repair works are underway.
Water supply to parts of Kilcullen will be disrupted until early evening.
Kildare County Council says a water main opposite Berney's Saddlers in the town has ruptured.
Repairs begin at 11am, and will affect premises between the bank "as far as the laundrette on Naas Road".
The project is scheduled for completion at 2pm.
It could take up to three hours for the system to refill and for normal supply to resume,
