Works are taking place on the motorway bridge.
Water supply to parts of Kilcullen will be disrupted until this evening.
Kildare County Council says works are being conducted on the motorway bridge, which will affect supply to Avondale, Nicholastown and the Athy Road.
The project begins at 9am and is due for completion at 4pm.
It could take up to three hours, after that, for the system to refill and for normal supply to resume.
