A wheelchair-accessible swing at Kerdiffstown Park Playground has been closed due to design and potential safety issues.
In response to a question from Councillor Carmel Kelly, the council said the swing was taken out of use because of issues with its locking mechanism, as well as problems with the design of the swing platform, which it says makes it unsuitable for electric wheelchairs.
The council said it has spent a considerable amount of time engaging with the playground installer in an effort to resolve the issues.
It now says a replacement of the wheelchair swing is being considered.
