Gardaí believe the injured party may have been followed from a bank, where she withdrew cash
Kilcullen gardaí are investigating an incident in which one woman had her handbag stolen.
The incident occurred in the Hillcrest area on Friday, March 20th at 2.50pm.
The injured party had stopped at the Centra shop in the area, and whilst getting back into the vehicle, was approached by a male suspect.
The suspect opened the front passenger door and took the woman's handbag.
The handbag contained a quantity of cash, as the woman had just come from a bank before stopping at Centra.
Gardaí believe she may have been followed from said bank.
The male suspect is described as being a young, tall male whose face was covered by a red hood that was pulled down tightly.
He was then seen running towards a medium-sized white van with a sliding door on the side.
The vehicle and suspect are then believed to have headed in the Naas direction.
In the stolen handbag was a coin purse, keys, bank cards and a driving licence, as well as a black Samsung mobile phone in a chunky red case.
Gardaí note these items may have been discarded nearby.
They are asking those who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to check dashcam footage, and to contact Kilcullen garda station on 045 481 212 if they have any information that can assist in their investigation.
