Road and lane closures will be in place
Construction has started on a major water infrastructure upgrade in Two Mile House.
Uisce Éireann is installing 4.2 kilometres of new water mains to boost supply capacity in the Newbridge area and support future housing and economic development.
The works will be carried out in phases, covering routes from Two Mile House village to the R448, then on to Mullacash Middle and Swordlestown North.
Localised road and lane closures will be required, but Uisce Éireann says traffic management plans will be in place and communicated in advance to minimise disruption.
Programme Manager Derek Deignan said the upgrade will help meet the needs of both current and future residents:
“This project will improve the supply capacity of the existing network, enhance performance, and ease pressure on the current system,” he said.
Shareridge Ltd is delivering the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with completion expected by Q4 this year.
Some short-term water outages may occur during the project, but residents will be given at least 48 hours’ notice ahead of any planned interruptions.
Updates will be posted on the Uisce Éireann website.
“We understand this kind of work can be inconvenient,” Mr Deignan added, “and we’ll do everything possible to reduce the impact on the local community.”
