The night-time training device vanished in Wicklow before turning up 50km away
A device used by the army, that was potentially explosive, has been found in Carlow after going missing from the Wicklow mountains.
An appeal was made after the ordnance, that is used during night-time military operations, disappeared after being spotted by someone walking in the Glen of Imaal.
It was found at a home in Hacketstown last night prompting a call-out from the bomb disposal team and an evacuation of the area.
The device was safely removed and was found not to be viable.
