Gardai launch investigation.
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered on Lambay Island off the coast of North Dublin.
Staff working on the island made the discovery on Thursday evening.
The person's remains have since been taken to the Dublin City Morgue.
Gardai hope the results of a post-mortem examination and DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland will help confirm the individual's identity and assist the course of an investigation.
