The Data Protection Commission says a full report will be released in due course.
Children's Health Ireland has been reprimanded by the Data Protection Commission over its handling of children's health records at its facility in Tallaght Hospital.
The commission released its final decision today following an inquiry in August last year.
CHI was ordered to bring its processing of personal data into GDPR compliance after failing to comply with regulations about the physical safety and security of children's health records.
The inquiry was launched and an unannounced inspection was carried out following protected disclosures in June and July last year.
Documents containing what are described as 'sensitive and special category data' had been disposed of and later removed from an overflowing confidential waste bin located beside an office door.
The Commission says a full report will be released in due course.
