Yesterday saw the election of Social Democrats' first senator - Patricia Stephenson.

Counting has resumed to fill the final few seats in the Seanad election.

Seven seats are up for grabs on the Administrative Panel, while 11 senators will be appointed as the Taoiseach's nominees.

Sinn Féin's Conor Murphy was elected yesterday - meaning he will now resign as the North's economy minister.

Yesterday also saw the election of Social Democrats' first senator - Patricia Stephenson.
