Naas test centre sees 5-week wait
The average wait for a driving test has dropped to 9.6 weeks, meeting the Government’s target ahead of the September 1st deadline.
Campaign group Parc, using Road Safety Authority (RSA) data, shows a sharp improvement after years of rising delays, with some learners previously waiting up to a year.
However, no-show rates have risen again after falling earlier this year.
Tallaght in Co Dublin remains the slowest centre, with candidates facing a 15-week wait — though that’s down from 36 weeks in May, the biggest reduction nationwide.
Kildare's test centre in Naas has an estimated wait time of 5 weeks. From January to May there was 165 no-shows. In June there was 31 no-shows.
Nationally, no-shows generated €60,000 in fees for the RSA in June, according to the Irish Times.
