The incident happened on Sunday 28th May
Gardaí in Tullamore are continuing to investigate a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred shortly before 2am on Sunday 28th May, 2023 on the R446 at Marshbrook, County Offaly, near the Westmeath border.
A male pedestrian (50s) was pronounced dead at the scene. No other serious injuries were reported.
The road was closed for a time and an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators was conducted.
Gardaí in Tullamore are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
In particular, investigating Gardaí are appealing to any persons who were in the vicinity of this collision shortly after it occurred to make contact with them, even if they did not witness the collision.
Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R446 between Moate and Horseleap at the time are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
