Last week, Kfm reported that Kildare North had the lowest number of Gardaí per capita nationally
Twelve new gardaí have been appointed to areas in both Kildare North and South, whilst garda numbers are hitting an all-time high.
Following the attestation of 207 new recruits today, there will be 14,825 sworn Garda members - the single largest attestation class since pre Covid-19.
Of the 207 new Gardaí, three have been assigned to Kildare Town, and two to Newbridge.
Seven new gardaí have been allocated to Kildare North.
Of those seven, six have been assigned to the Leixlip district, supporting policing in Celbridge, Leixlip and Kilcock.
The remaining garda has been assigned to Naas.
Last week, Kfm reported that Kildare North had the lowest number of Gardaí per capita nationally.
84 will be deployed to the Dublin Metropolitan Region, 76 to the Eastern Region, 27 to the North-Western Region, and 20 to the Southern Region.
Two thirds of the group are male and a third is female, and 24 are from countries outside Ireland, including England, Eswatini and Moldova.
Almost 400 Garda recruits are currently in training, with the next intake entering the Garda College in November.
