The woman's body was found at the apartment in north - west Dublin
A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act after a woman's body was found in Dublin this morning.
Gardai are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death.
Gardaí remain here at the scene after the body of a woman was discovered at an apartment in Royal Canal Park in Ashtown.
The woman, who is aged in her 40s, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at around 10 O' Clock this morning.
It’s understood that the woman died violently.
Gardaí say they have detained a man under the mental act and are not looking for anyone else.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
