Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, and the HSE have launched its free programme 'Let's Talk About Suicide'
The HSE has launched a free suicide prevention training programme, available to everyone over the age of 18.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, and the HSE is asking the community to 'talk about suicide'.
'Let's Talk About Suicide' is a new, free online training programme, and helps people develop their skills to keep others safe from suicide.
It helps participants identify people who are at risk, confidently ask about the topic of suicide and connect them with resources that can help them stay safe.
This introductory programme by the HSE uses a mix of guided online content, video and interactive questions, and participants are able to pause and recommence the programme at their own convenience.
The training programme is for everyone, especially those who are supporting a loved one, working with others or those involved in their communities.
You do not need to be a clinical or medical professional to complete the programme.
The programme will take approximately 60 minutes to complete, but participants can work at their own pace.
To enroll and complete 'Let's Talk About Suicide', visit hse.ie/letstalk.
