Pregnant women, older people and those with serious illnesses to take priority on 280-seat evacuation flight from Oman
The most vulnerable Irish citizens are to be prioritised on the first government-chartered flight out of the Middle East, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Helen McEntee has said.
Pregnant women, the elderly and those with serious health conditions will be given priority on the airlift from Oman.
280 people will be accommodated on the flight, once it gets the all-clear to take off.
Government officials will be in touch with the citizens directly today.
Speaking on RTE Six One News yesterday evening Minister McEntee said some 24,000 Irish people in the Middle East had registered with the department in recent days.
