Following the charity’s demise, liquidator Tom Murray sued Ms Kelly, her husband and their son Tim for damages totalling almost €750,000
Legal proceedings seeking a judgment against the wife of the late Console suicide bereavement charity founder Paul Kelly have been re-entered in the High Court by a liquidator.
Patricia Kelly (65), with an address at Alexandra Manor, Clane, was convicted and fined two years ago for accounting irregularities at the charity, which collapsed in 2016 amid revelations of financial mismanagement and extravagant spending.
According to the Irish Independent, liquidator Tom Murray sued Ms Kelly, her husband and their son Tim for damages totalling almost €750,000, following the charity’s demise.
But the civil proceedings against her were put on hold pending the outcome of the criminal process.
Barrister Keith Farry, for the liquidator, told Mr Justice Brian Cregan on Monday that Ms Kelly had consented to the case being re-entered.
Ms Kelly is set to fight claims made about her conduct by the liquidator.
