It will be operated by the Organisation of Ex-Service Personnel.
A new hostel for homeless veterans of the Defence Forces has opened in County Cork.
The Organisation of Ex-Service Personnel has refurbished the old Social Welfare office on Harbour Row in Cobh.
It has five new en-suites and a day centre to serve the town, which is next to the Haulbowline naval base.
Ollie O'Connor, Chief Executive of the charity, says the generous support of the public keeps it going -- but more will be needed next year.
The charity says it's helped a thousand homeless military veterans over the last twenty years.
Ollie O'Connor, chief executive, says they're aiming to open a similar centre in Cork City next year
