Stepping Stones is a special needs school which currently has to use a one-way system for school drop-offs.
Parents of children attending a special needs school in Maynooth are calling for urgent action over what they say are unsafe drop-off and parking conditions.
Stepping Stones School currently has a car park that operates as a one-way system, with bus drivers relying on what’s been described as an “unwritten system” — using hazard lights while children get off.

Planning permission has been granted to implement a new car park, but no timeline has been set for the work.
Speaking on this morning's Kildare Today, Stacey McLoughlin, a member of the parents’ association, says the situation is dangerous and "these children are a flight risk”.

Earlier this year, Kfm News reported that previous funding issues for the school had been raised by Fianna Fáil TD for Kildare North Naoise Ó Cearúil in the Dáil.
In a statement to Kfm News, the Department of Education said:
"The Department are reviewing the matter in relation to the proposed car park and will be in contact with the school management in this regard."
