A man in his 40s remains in hospital with serious injuries
Police in the North are appealing for calm, in the wake of a knife attack in Belfast.
A man in his 40s remains in hospital with serious injuries after the incident in the Kinnaird Avenue area shortly after 10.30pm last night.
A Sudanese man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
PSNI chief constable Jon Boutcher said the suspect had travelled from Sudan to Paris on dates unknown.
He then had flown to Dublin "on a date yet to be confirmed".
The PSNI says it has no information to suggest that the stabbing is a terrorist-related incident.
Police are also urging the public not to share video footage of the attack, which is circulating online.
