Ministers have approved a plan to cap rent increases at two per cent in Rent Pressure Zones, which includes the entirety of Co. Kildare.
It's after proposals to limit rent increases to 2 per cent per year were brought to Cabinet this morning.
There are 12,000 households living in privately rented accommodation in Kildare.
