Ryanair has bulk bought 25 homes in North Dublin, which it says will be rented to staff.
The airline confirmed the move in a statement this afternoon.
Ryanair says this purchase, of homes in Fosterstown in Swords, is to make sure it can provide high quality and affordable rentals nearby Dublin Airport.
This will be for new cabin crew, in their first year of employment, based in the capital to help it maintain the fleet of 33 aircraft based there.
The airline, in its statement, says the absence of affordable rental accommodation has been a "major impediment" to its efforts to recruit and train new Irish and European cabin crew.
