A section of a park in Santry in Dublin has been sealed off as part of a search for a missing Icelandic man.
41-year-old Jon Jonsson disappeared in the capital five years ago.
He was last seen on the 9th February 2019 at 11am after leaving the Bonnington Hotel in Whitehall.
He was in Dublin for a poker tournament and planned on staying for a holiday before he disappeared.
Yesterday gardai investigating his case began a search in Santry Park with the assistance of the water unit and cadaver dogs.
This afternoon on day two of the search the cadaver dogs picked up something.
At this stage it’s too early to indicate what it is but it does warrant further investigation so the area has been sealed off.
The Garda Technical team has been notified and will carry out a forensic examination.
The area is about 3kms from where Mr Jonnson was last seen.
