Glen Hansard has died.
The 56 year-old singer-songwriter died in the early hours of this morning in a motorbike crash at the Strawberry Beds in Lucan.
The singer was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.
He had a series of gigs planned for the coming months including in London, Helsinki and Stockholm.
The frontman of the Frames since the 1990s, the Dublin native also acted in Bafta winning movie "The Commitments" and "Once".
The romantic musical drama earned Hansard an Oscar for the song "Falling Slowly" in 2007.
