Support partners are to be allowed access to maternity wards between 8am and 9am every day.
New guidance has been issued to maternity hospitals and will come into effect from November 1st.

The HSE looked at two maternity hospitals already offering greater access to partners, and says there is no evidence to show that it led to an increase in the spread of infection.
