Youghal man charged with the murder of his wife, who has been missing since 2017.
The husband of Tina Satchwell has been remanded in custody after being charged with her murder.
53-year-old Richard Satchwell of number 3, Gratton Street, Youghal, Co Cork appeared at a specia sitting of Cashel District Court in County Tipperary this morning.
Richard Satchwell was arrested in Youghal on Thursday morning and taken to Cobh Garda Station for questioning.
Detective Garda David Kelleher of Cobh Garda Station gave evidence of arrest charge and caution.
Defence solicitor Eddie Burke asked Judge Miriam Walsh that Satchwell be held in Cork Prison rather than Limerick Prison.
Judge Walsh said where the accused would be held is not her decision.
Mr Burke also said his client is not working and applied for legal aid.
Bail cannot be granted at District Court level on a murder charge and Judge Walsh remanded him in custody to appear before Clonmel District Court on Tuesday the 17th of October.
Tina Satchwell was last seen in public on the 19th of March 2017.
It was confirmed yesterday via dental records that skeletal remains found at a house in Youghal are those of the missing 45-year-old.
Members of her family were present in the court for today's brief hearing.
