Tusla Placed Nearly 200 Adults In Children’s Care As Age-Assessment Errors Surge

In the last three years, Tulsa has mistakenly placed almost 200 international protection applicants in underage care facilities, before establishing they were over eighteen.

There has been a 120 percent increase in the number of adult asylum seekers being placed in children’s accommodation since the beginning of 2023.

In the last three years, Tulsa has mistakenly placed almost 200 international protection applicants in underage care facilities, before establishing they were over eighteen.

So far this year there have been 86 such cases, in 2024 there were 67 and in 2022 there were 39.
