4 Irish Boxers Will Begin Their Bid For Olympic Glory At The Last 16, Following Draws.

Kurt Walker is first between the ropes, in a last 32 bout against Spanish opposition on Saturday morning.

Four Irish boxers will begin their bid for an Olympic medal from the last 16 stage, after the draws were made earlier.

Kellie Harrington and Michaela Walsh were already poised to receive byes into the last 16 prior to the draw.

Aidan Walsh received a bye into the last 16 of the men's welterweight, while Aoife O'Rourke will also begin in the last 16 in the women's middleweight.

Kurt Walker is the first Irish fighter in action early on Saturday morning.

Emmett Brennan is in the ring on Sunday, with Brendan Irvine beginning his Olympic campaign early on Monday morning.
