The world number one pulls out of the tournament because of injury.

World number one Ashleigh Barty has retired from the French Open because of injury.

She lost the first set by 6 games to 1 to Magda Linette in the second round in Paris and with strapping on her thigh, she struggled with her movement.

It was 2 games apiece in the second set when Barty called it a day.

After Naomi Osaka withdrew on Monday, Aryna Sabalenka is the highest ranked player left in the women's draw.

In the men's singles today, Roger Federer plays Marin Cilic, top seed Novak Djokovic is up against Pablo Cuevas and defending champion Rafael Nadal meets Richard Gasquet.
