The 25 year old French international has penned a six year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is also set to move to Chelsea from Brighton for 25 million pounds.


In the SSE Airtricity Premier Division tonight, St Pat's go to Sligo, and it's Bohemians versus Drogheda.

St Pat's will move within a point of leaders Shamrock Rovers if they win, while Bohs will cut their deficit on the Hoops to two points with a victory.

Both of those games kick off at 7.45.

In the First Division, leaders Galway United go to Finn Harps, it's Treaty United up against Longford Town, Bray Wanderers play Athlone Town, Waterford take on Kerry and it's Cobh Ramblers to play Wexford.

The Championship season kicks off in England this evening, with Sheffield Wednesday hosting Southampton.


England have been given a boost three days ahead of their first knockout game at the Women's World Cup as Keira Walsh steps up her recovery.

It's the first game as the build up starts to next month's World Cup in France.

Head coach Andy Farrell has given a first test start to Joe McCarthy, recalled Jacob Stockdale and picked Munster duo Jack Crowley and Craig Casey as the half backs.

Eadestown's Jimmy O’Brien starts at full-back while Tadgh Beirne makes the bench.

Shane Lowry is 2 under par going into his second round at the Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour in North Carolina.

He's six shots behind leader Russell Henley.

Stephanie Meadow is 4 over par through 16 holes of her second round at the Women's Scottish Open on the LPGA Tour.

Japan's Hinako Shibuno leads by one shot  on 8 under par.


ATHLETICS

Ireland will send it's largest ever squad to the World Athletics Championships in Budapest this month.

23 athletes will represent Ireland at the event which starts on the 19th of August.

Tallaght's Rhasidat Adeleke will run in the 400m while Ciara Mageean competes in the 1500m.

1500m runner Nick Griggs also has the opportunity to be added to the squad should he be reallocated a quota spot in the coming days.

The Guinness Handicap is the feature on day five of the Galway Races at Ballybrit.

That goes to post at 6.35.

The Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes is the main attraction at Goodwood.
