In the United Rugby Championship tonight, Munster are away to Edinburgh from 7.35.

It will be John Ryan's 200th appearance for the province.

Athy’s Jeremy Loughman and Eadestown’s Tadhg Beirne start in the front row.

Athy’s Joey Carbery has been named at fly half.

Tonight's game, and all others in the competition this weekend, will be preceded by a moment's applause to honour the late Doddie Weir.

SOCCER

Ghana go into this afternoon's final group game knowing that victory over Uruguay will see them reach the last-16 at the World Cup.

The two nations met at the quarter-final stage in 2010, with a Luis Suarez handball on the line denying the Africans a late goal and then the resulting penalty being missed.

Former Republic of Ireland international Chris Hughton is now Ghana's technical advisor.

A draw would be enough for the Ghanians if South Korea fail to beat Portugal.

That game also kicks off at 3pm.

Later, favourites Brazil will look to continue their perfect start against Cameroon - and Serbia will take on Switzerland.

Brazil have qualified and Serbia must win their match - a draw will be sufficient for the Swiss unless Cameroon win.
Those games get underway at 7pm.

GOLF

Ireland's Tom McKibbin and Gary Hurley are out on course at the South African Open.

Meanwhile, Shane Lowry is in the Bahamas, out on course for the Hero World Challenge.

F1

Next year's Chinese F1 Grand Prix has been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions in the country.

The event in Shanghai was due to return for the first time since 2019, in what was scheduled to be the fourth round of a record 24-race season in April.

The sport's organisers are assessing alternative options to replace the slot on the 2023 calendar.
