Friday Morning: Athy's Joey Carbery Gets First Start Of The Season For Munster Against Connacht Tonight

The Republic of Ireland women's team will play Scotland in their World Cup play off at Hampden Park next Tuesday night.

The Hoops were beaten 3-0 away to Molde - they remain bottom of the group.

RUGBY

Athy’s Joey Carbery’s first outing of the season will come at full-back.

He starts for Munster away to Connacht tonight in the United Rugby Championship, with Ben Healy continuing at out-half.

Jack Carty will start for Connacht at the Sportsground in one of five changes from last week’s defeat to the Vodacom Bulls.

Kick-off at 7.35pm.

GOLF

The Irish Open is set to move to a late August /early September date in 2023, ahead of the Ryder Cup.

The tournament in recent years has been held in July.

The K Club, Straffan, will host next year's event.
