The Irish Athletic Boxing Association will vote on whether to affiliate to the newly formed World Boxing organisation.
The governing bodies of boxing in the United States, Great Britain, England, New Zealand, Australia and the Netherlands have been confirmed as the founding members of World Boxing.
The new body is seeking to oust the IBA as the seat of power for amateur boxing worldwide.
World Boxing members have been long-time critics of IBA president Umar Kremlev, and the Russian funding of the IBA.
The Irish body - the IABA - are to vote on World Boxing membership at the end of this month.
