Ireland responded to their opening-round defeat with an emphatic victory over Italy in Galway.
Ireland's women's national rugby team produced a confident display to defeat Italy 57-20 at Dexcom Stadium in the Women's Six Nations Championship.
After trailing heavily at half-time in their opener against England a week earlier, Ireland made a fast start this time around and built control of the game early. Winger Beibhinn Parsons was among the standout performers, crossing for three tries on home soil, while Aoife Wafer also made a major impact in attack as Ireland consistently broke through the Italian defence.
Ireland secured their bonus point victory early in the contest and continued to add scores throughout, with a total of nine tries across the 80 minutes. Italy did respond with a number of their own scores, but the result was never seriously in doubt.
It marks a strong response from Ireland following their opening defeat and gives them momentum heading into the next round of fixtures.
