Dublin were impressive in the opening half, helped by quite a few KIldare errors
Alex Beirne was impressive as he converted a ’45 and adding two points from play.
But then, Robert Shaw lofted a high ball into the Kildare square and corner-forward Jamie McCarvillebeat beat goalkeeper Didier Cordonnier to to the dropping ball, punching it to the net.
That extended Dublin’s lead to four before Alex Beirne brought his first-half haul to five points to leave Dublin leading by 1-8 to 0-8 at half-time.
But between the 37th and 45th minutes Kildare outscored Dublin by 1-6 to a point, to lead by 5,including a two pointer by Alex Beirne the goal from corner-back Harry O’Neill
Dublin scored the next three points, but a two-pointer from James Harris, and points from Eoin Cully and Darragh Swords saw Kildare home by 9 points.
