Graeme McDowell has been named as one of Padraig Harrington's vice captains for the European team ahead of September's Ryder Cup against the USA in Wisconsin.
McDowell played on the team four times, clinching the winning point in 2010.
Martin Kaymer will also be one of Harrington's assistants.
