The 2012 All-Ireland winning boss is being linked with the position nine years after stepping down from the role.

A county board meeting is set to take place this evening.

SOCCER

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he's not concerned about a perceived lack of a prolific goalscorer in his squad.

The Spaniard takes his side to Selhurst Park tonight for a meeting with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Arteta believes they need goals to come from all over the field and not just one player.



Kick off this evening is at 8pm.

Aymeric Laporte is expected to fly to Saudi Arabia today to complete his move to Al Nassr.

The Manchester City defender will join for a fee of 25-million pounds.

Laporte joined City in 2018 and has since won five Premier League titles and a Champions League.

Ben Foster has confirmed his retirement from professional football.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper also had lengthy stints at Watford and West Brom.

Foster calls time on his career having come out of retirement earlier this year to play for Wrexham.

The quarter-final line-up in the FAI Cup will be completed tonight.

UCD take on Galway United while Cork City face Waterford.

Both of those games fell victim to the weather last Friday night.

Kick off for both matches this evening is at 7.45.

ATHLETICS

Tallaght's Rhasidat Adeleke and Sharlene Mawdsley compete in the semi finals of the 400 metres on day three of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

They're both set to return to the track tonight.

Ciara Mageean will line up in the final of the 1500 metres tomorrow after finishing third in her semi final yesterday.

Also in the 1500 metres, Sarah Healy set a personal best but missed out on a place in the final, while Andrew Coscoran's challenge also ended at the semi final stage.
