Saturday Sport Update: Kildare Leinster Minor Champions

Beat Meath on penalties after extra time; this evening All Ire SFC Kildare v Galway - commentary from 7.30 in association with Hanlon Concrete Robertstown.

Kildare minor footballers s are Leinster champions following last night’s dramatic win over Meath.

Kildare were four points down going in to the final minute of normal time when Logan Tennyson fired home a goal and a point in quick succession to level the game at 1-11 each.

The sides were still level at half time in extra time 1-12 each, and again after the 2nd period: Kildare 2-13 to 1-16, Kildare’s 2nd goal from full forward Greg Kelly.

The game was decided on a penalty shootout, with Kildare scoring all their 5 to Meath’s 3.

The senior footballers go to Galway this evening in round 1 of the All Ireland championship.

Throw in is at 7.30 and Kfm will have full commentary in association with Hanlon Concrete, Robertstown.

Kerry play Donegal inFitzgerald Stadium at 3pm

Meath go to Cork in a rematch of the Division Two League final.

The Kildare senior hurlers finish their Leinster campaign tomorrow against Offaly in Cedral St. Conleths Park at 2pm.
