Kildare hurlers host Derry in the Christy Ring Cup

GAELIC GAMES

The Kildare Senior Hurlers continue their  Christy Ring Cup campaign this lunchtime.

There is a 1 o’clock throw for the match against Derry at Manguard Park.

There will be live updates here on Kfm.

That will be following by the minor hurling team’s Championship game against Kerry, which starts at 3.30.

Kildare suffered a 2-19 to 16 points defeat to Laois in the Leinster U20 hurling championship last night.

Today in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, Dublin will be hoping to build on last week's draw with Wexford as they travel to Netwatch Culen Park to take on Carlow.

Throw in for that one is at 6pm.


Antrim will hope to respond to their drubbing at the hands of Kilkenny when they welcome Wexford to Corrigan Park.

That game throws in at 3pm.

In the Ulster Senior Football Championship, Armagh and Down will battle it out for a place in the Ulster final.

That one throws in at 5.15pm in Clones.

Kildare Senior Ladies manager Diane O’Hora has named an unchanged team for tomorrow's Leinster Championship match against Meath in Navan.

Champions Shamrock Rovers were held to a one all draw by Galway United tonight in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division last night.

Stephen Walsh had given the Tribesmen the lead only to be pegged back by a Johnny Kenny equaliser.

Damien Duff's Shelbourne have extended their lead to three points at the top of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division after they defeated St Patricks Athletic at Tolka Park by one goal to nil, thanks to a goal from John Martin.

Whilst Dundalk began life under new boss Noel King in perfect fashion as they beat Bohemians two nil.

Drogheda United beat Sligo Rovers by three goals to one whilst Derry were winners in Waterford by two goals to nil , which leaves the Candystripes three points off the top.

In the First Division, leaders Cork City extended their lead at the top of the table after they defeated Finn Harps by two goals to nil earlier this evening.


RUGBY

In today's Women's Guinness Six Nations, Ireland welcome Scotland to Belfast as they look to secure third spot and a place in next year's Rugby World Cup.

However, that will depend on today's earlier game between Italy and Wales, that kicks off at 12:15pm, whilst in Belfast kick-off there is at 2.30pm.


Elsewhere, England travel to France as both sides chase the Grand Slam.


Munster are in South Africa for their clash with the Emirates Lions in the United Rugby Championship today which kicks off at 4pm.

Meanwhile, Leinster look to bounce back from their defeat last week to the Lions as they take DHL Stormers at 5 past 6.

And Connacht play the Dragons, which kicks off at 8pm tonight.
