There was disappointment for Sarah Lavin at the World Athletics Championships this lunchtime.

The Limerick women finished fourth in her 100-metres hurdles semi-final in Toyko.

Her time of 12.86 was not enough to secure a place in the final.

Andrew Coscoran was also on the track this afternoon, he finished in 5th place in his 1500 metre semi-final this lunchtime.

A time of 3.35.65 saw him qualify for Wednesday's final.

While Cork's Nicola Tuthill is in action as she competes in the final of the hammer.

Earlier this morning, Ireland's Peter Lynch came home in 24th spot in the men's marathon.
