Kildare Ladies are through to the quarter-finals of the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship after a 1-13 to 9-point win away to Tipperary yesterday.
Mayah Doyle’s first-half goal helped the Lilies built a four-point lead at the break, before they controlled the second-half to secure their place in the knockout stages.
Pat Sullivan’s side will now face Armagh in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Round 3 continues this afternoon.
Dublin play Donegal at Croke Park from 1.15, with a place in the quarter-finals on the line.
Later, Monaghan play Westmeath from 4.
The winners of both ties will join Kerry, Mayo, and Clare in tomorrow morning’s quarter final draw.
In the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Final, Cork play Offaly at half-past 3.
And in Camogie, Wexford play Kilkenny in the Senior Championship from 2.
At the same time, Offaly play Clare.
Soccer
In the World Cup, Netherlands beat Sweden 5-1 yesterday.
Germany booked their place in the knockout stages with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast.
This morning, Ecuador and Curacao drew nil-all, and Japan beat Tunisia 4-nil in Group F.
This evening, Spain will be looking to bounce back from their opening draw with Cape Verde when they face Saudi Arabia in Group H from 5.
Belgium are in Group G action against Iran from 8.
While tonight’s late game sees Uruguay play Cape Verde at 11.
Rugby
In Rugby, Ireland have suffered a double injury blow ahead of next month's Nations Championship, with Caelan Doris and Tommy O'Brien ruled out.
Dan Sheehan will captain the side, while uncapped Ulster brothers Zac and Bryn Ward have been called into the squad.
Munster prop Oli Jager has retired from professional rugby on medical grounds after making 35 appearances for the province and winning one Ireland cap.
Golf
And In golf, Rory McIlroy goes into the final round of the US Open tied for 17th place at three-over-par.
McIlroy is the only Irish player remaining in the field after Shane Lowry, Graeme McDowell and Padraig Harrington all missed the cut.
