GAA

A five points defeat for the Kildare U20 footballers last night in the All Ireland semi final vs Tyrone on a score of 2-12 to 13 points.

The early stages saw the sides level at 3 points each but by half time Tyrone led by 1-5 to 4 points.

Midway through the 2nd half, Kildare closed the gap to one point with a series of points from Daniel Colbert,  Ronan Kelly and 4 from Jimmy Lynch.

But, Tyrone responded with a second goal on 48 minutes to lead by 4 points and from there kicked on to win by 5.

Kfm’s commentary last night was in association with Naas Plaza Car Park: indoor parking via Corban's Lane, with direct access to The Forge Inn, Roches Brasserie and Main Street Naas.

The other semi final saw Roscommon and Kerry go to extra time, before Kerry emerged winners by 1-15 to 13 points

 

Kilkenny have booked their place in the final of the under 20 Leinster hurling Championship.

They had a 1-22 to 2-13 victory over Dublin at Parnell Park.

Kilkenny will meet Galway in the final, after extra time beating Wexford 2-23 to 1-16

 

The Munster under 20 final needed sudden death penalties to separate Clare and Tipperary.

It finished 2-24 each after extra time, before it went to sudden death penalties.

 

SOCCER

Manchester City boosted their Premier League title hopes with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace.

Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush and Savinho scored the goals at the Etihad Stadium.

City are two points behind leaders Arsenal with two games left to play.

 

Victories for leaders Hearts and closest rivals Celtic mean the Scottish Premiership title will be decided on the final day.

Hearts 3-0 win over Falkirk kept them a point clear at the top.

While Kelechi Iheanacho's controversial stoppage time penalty earned Celtic a dramatic 3-2 victory at Motherwell.

 

GOLF

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are among those in action on Day 1 of the PGA Championship at Aronimink.

McIlroy tees off his opening round alongside Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth this afternoon at around 1:40 Irish Time.

While Lowry is in the later groupings today, and gets his campaign up and running just after 6:30pm.

Tom McKibbin is out on course at 12:40pm, with Padraig Harrington teeing off at around 1:25pm in Pennsylvania.

 

RACING

Today's racing comes from Clonmel.

The first on an 8 race card goes to post at 4:47pm.
